In an innovative and disruptive initiative by the IFIA-ABIPIR LATAM Office, the “Brazil-China Cooperation Hub,” with the full support of IFIA President Mr. Alireza Rastegar, was created and officially announced.
This project will feature a physical headquarters and a digital platform, aimed at facilitating the establishment of scientific, technological, innovation, education, and business partnerships among institutions, conventional companies, and startups from Brazil and China.
According to Mr. Marcelo Vivacqua, Founder and President of ABIPIR, Director in Latin America of IFIA, and Head of the Hub, the majority of attempts to establish partnerships and conduct business between Brazil and China fail due to nearly insurmountable barriers such as language, time zones, culture, and distance. Marcelo concludes that the only way to make these initiatives viable is through the physical presence of a team that can prospect opportunities, conduct visits, and monitor projects and businesses on an ongoing basis.
 
The launch of the Hub took place at the Institute of Technology and Leadership (INTELI), an innovative and inspiring space, which will be one of its future partners and was represented by Mrs. Flavia Santoro, Academic Director. The Technological Research Institute (IPT), an institutional partner of the IFIA-ABIPIR LATAM Office and a major reference in research and certification of industrial equipment in Latin America, was represented by Mr. Gabriel Poli de Figueiredo.
Innovative technological projects were presented by Chinese researchers present in the delegation and by several Brazilian researchers, with particular emphasis on the projects for the Hub’s partner, Maxi Science, led by CEO Danilo Melo, who also serves as Head of the IFIA-ABIPIR LATAM Office, Chapter São Paulo.
  Also present were Mrs. Mariangela Lûckmann, Head of the IFIA-ABIPIR LATAM Office, Chapter Foz do Iguaçu, along with representatives from governments, research and innovation institutions, and startups.
The “Brazil-China Cooperation Hub” will have its Brazilian headquarters in São Paulo, an economic, financial, education, science, technology, and innovation center in Latin America, under the leadership of Dr. Marcelo Vivacqua. In China, it will be led by Dr. Liu Zhenying.
Regarding the Hub and its potential for partnerships and business opportunities between Brazil and China, Dr. Liu commented: “The ‘Brazil-China Cooperation Hub’ is of great significance to both sides. The Brazil-China Science, Technology, Innovation, Education, and Business Cooperation Hub will be based in Brazil and focus on Latin America as a broader scope to build a resource service platform. It will help Chinese R&D institutions, universities, colleges, and enterprises to go global and better serve China-Brazil exchanges and cooperation in technology, innovation, education, industry, agriculture, and business. It is expected that the two sides will carry out in-depth cooperation in multiple fields, at multiple levels, and through multiple channels under the framework of the Brazil-China Cooperation Hub.”
